History

When Mr. Renato Tosoni, no older than a kid, used to travel down from the mountains of Clauzetto (PN) with his father's cart pulled by a donkey to reach the markets of Spilimbergo, he certainly did not imagine that his humble passion for cheeses would lead him, seventy years later, to be the owner of a thriving family-run company.

Today, his sons, Carlo, Roberto and Domenico, are the protagonists of the re-launch of a growing company that sees a history of long-term commitment become real with the grand opening, in the year 2000, of a new and prestigious production plant in Spilimbergo (PN). A modern plant that does not forget the values of Friuli's tradition, with a large area dedicated to retail sales in addition to the already known Tosoni retail shops: "Astori" in Tolmezzo and "Baita" in Udine.

A steady growth that finds its moments of excellence in the acquisition of the prestigious Dairy Factory in Travesio (PN), an ancient high quality manufacturing plant of Friuli's cheeses. The plant is located at the convergence of three beautiful valleys that saw the history of the people of Spilimbergo unfold: Val Cosa, Val Tramontina and Val d'Arzino. Tosoni's "Latteria Friulano" cheese is produced here, branded "Meduno" and "Travesio" according to the places and the names of local tradition.
